FAQs

Questions, answered

Some of the most common questions people ask before getting started - answered honestly, with no jargon.

What qualifications do I have?

I have a bachelor's degree in education (2003), began training as a counsellor in 2023 and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling in 2025.

What services do I offer?

Counselling online and in-person. These sessions take place weekly and are usually reviewed every 5-6 weeks to ensure that we are on track and that counselling is helping you meet your goals. Each session lasts 50 minutes.

Where do in-person sessions take place?

In-person sessions take place near Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire. The counselling room is at street level and is a tranquil space for therapy sessions.

What are my fees?

All initial 30 minute consultations are free. My fee for counselling sessions is £55 per session. All sessions last 50 minutes.

What is an integrative counsellor?

An integrative counsellor doesn't rely on just one single method of therapy. Instead, they draw from a range of different approaches and adapt them to suit you as an individual. In simple terms, it means therapy is tailored to you, rather than you having to fit into a fixed model.

What about confidentiality?

Everything you share stays private between us, within the limits set by law. During our first conversation, I'll explain those limits and how your information is stored securely.

What happens during the initial conversation?

Our initial conversation is free. This is an opportunity for you to tell me a bit about yourself, find out more about how I work and ask any questions you may have. I will then give you time to think about what we've discussed. If you decide you would like to go ahead with counselling sessions, you can get in touch. If you decide to begin counselling sessions, we will complete a more detailed assessment during our first session.

What do I need to do next?
